Our Shepherd partners with the Berkley Public School District in the job sharing program.  This program provides our school specialty teachers who are highly qualified in their subject area.  The following classes are offered within this program.

Music class  grades 1-8 The music program at Our Shepherd enables students to explore themselves musically, as well as help them become independent musical thinkers and creators.  Using authentic musical examples, children will listen to, discuss, sing, perform on instruments, improvise, compose, play games and move to music.  Through this process, students will explore how the elements of music (pitch, rhythm, melody, form, timbre, dynamics, meter, texture and harmony) help humans express themselves using the language of music.

Art Class grades 1-8  Art education enriches students’ lives.  It gives students knowledge, sensitivity, understanding, and appreciation of God’s world around them.  

Physical Education grades 1-8  Our Shepherd recognizes the importance of developing the students’ physical skills and supporting a healthy lifestyle.  As a result, Our Shepherd Lutheran School offers extensive Physical Education for each student beginning in Kindergarten.

Spanish grades 2-8  The objective of a foreign language program is to porvide an opportunity to discover a new language and to experience other cultures through the study of the language.  The teacher will create age appropriate Spanish learning lessons, develop and implement strategies for the 7 multiple intelligences and will integrate technology to foster language acquisition and learn about the Latino cultures. 

Media Specialist grades 1-5 The Library Media Center will provide a place for students and faculty to come and gather information to enhance learning and curriculum.  It will be a place to promote reading for pleasure, and will emphasize the significance of books and technology. It is Ms. Stockton's goal to spread her knowledge and passion for reading and technology.  She plans to have a fun-filled year, exploring a variety of genres, authors and learning activities.
